Version 2026-08-13
This explains what happens to your information when you book, check in, or are treated at a clinic that uses BookMyCliniq.
Your clinic decides what your information is collected for and how it is used. They are the ones responsible for it under India’s data protection law.
BookMyCliniq provides the software the clinic uses. We store and process your information on the clinic’s behalf and under their instructions. We do not decide what your medical information is used for, and we do not sell it to anyone.
If you want something changed or removed, ask your clinic first — they can act on it directly. You can also start that request yourself from your BookMyCliniq account.
We ask for the minimum we need. If a field is not needed for your care, you can leave it blank.
We do not use your medical information to decide what advertising to show you, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We ask separately for each thing, because agreeing to be treated is not the same as agreeing to receive offers. Boxes that are optional start unticked — we never tick them for you.
We keep a record of what you agreed to, when, and the exact wording you were shown, so that both you and the clinic can check it later. You can see that record, and withdraw any permission, in your account.
One clinic cannot see another clinic’s records. If you use BookMyCliniq at more than one clinic, each only sees the visits that happened with them.
Your information is stored on servers used to run BookMyCliniq. We are working towards holding all health information on servers located in India, and towards encrypting it in storage. Ask us at hi@bookmycliniq.com if you need to know where your clinic's data sits today.
This is the part we cannot yet answer precisely, and we would rather say so.
Clinics in India are required by law to keep medical records for a minimum period. That duty can outlast a request to delete them — meaning your clinic may have to keep your clinical record even after you ask for it to be erased. Where that applies, the clinic must tell you what it is keeping and why.
Information that is not part of your medical record — for example your marketing preferences — is not covered by that duty and can be removed on request.
Ask your clinic what it keeps and for how long — the period is set by the rules that apply to their type of practice. We can tell you what the software stores: write to hi@bookmycliniq.com.
Start any of these from Your data & permissions in your BookMyCliniq account, or ask the clinic directly.
Some parts of BookMyCliniq use AI — for example suggesting what kind of appointment might suit the symptoms you describe, and drafting health articles.
AI is never your doctor. Anything an AI suggests is a starting point for a conversation with a clinician, not a diagnosis and not medical advice. Wherever AI has been used, we say so on screen.
If your information is exposed in a way it should not have been, we will tell your clinic promptly and support them in notifying you and the authorities as the law requires.
Ask your clinic first — they hold your records and can usually resolve it fastest.
